Morecambe Advancement

A very pleasant evening of Mark ritual and good company made the trip round the bay to Morecambe Mark Lodge No 716 a worthwhile journey despite the ravages of Storm Ciara.
Adrian Kerslake, Alan Gregory BEM, Frank Heath and Ken Needham
WM Frank Heath undertook the first part of the ceremony of advancement as Adrian Kerslake was admitted to the order. Frank discharged his role with accuracy, good timing and feeling. It was a delight to observe.
For the second part of the ceremony Alan Gregory had the task of following on from Frank. He too delivered ritual of the highest order. Frank was assisted by the stand-in junior overseer Tony Harrison who presented and explained the working tools of the order with great aplomb.
Nick Baxter and Adrian Kerslake
Amongst those watching on was Ken Needham who had been advanced at the last meeting and was taking the first opportunity to look at what he had gone through.

At the meal following the meeting the toast to Adrian was proposed by his proposer senior warden Nick Baxter. In response Adrian commented that he had been told he would enjoy the ceremony and that that had in fact turned out to be the case as he had thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Peter Quirk, Peter Schofield WM of Furness Mark, Keith Kemp,
stand-in junior overseer Tony Harrison, Jim Richards and John Stanley

Alan Gregory had been the proposer for Ken’s advancement but had been unable to be present due to health problems. He took the opportunity of welcoming Ken as a member of Morecambe Mark Lodge.
